Tennessee Tech outshoots Southeast Missouri 77-62

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Kevin Murphy scored 26 points and Tennessee Tech outshot Southeast Missouri to earn a 77-62 Ohio Valley Conference victory Saturday night

The Golden Eagles (12-8, 4-3), coming off a last-second 63-62 loss to Jacksonville State, led wire to wire and snapped a two-game skid. They shot 56.6 percent from the field (30 of 53) compared to 48.2 percent for the Redhawks (27 of 56).

Southeast Missouri came into the game ranked eighth nationally in field goal percentage (49.8) and had shot better than 50 percent in each of its previous conference games.

Tennessee Tech also dished out more assists, 16 to 12, than the Redhawks, who ranked first in the OVC and 26th nationally in the category (16.1).

Jud Dillard added 15 points and Bassey Inameti 10 for the Golden Eagles.

Marcus Brister scored 15 to lead the Redhawks (10-9, 5-2), who snapped a two-game winning streak.
