Inherit the Gold wins Big A’s Haynesfield Stakes

NEW YORK (AP) — Inherit the Gold dominated the $73,500 Haynesfield Stakes at Aqueduct on Sunday, beating Socialsaul by 6 1/4 lengths in the race for New York breds.

The 6-year-old gelding trained by James Hooper and ridden by Junior Alvarado rallied from fourth, surging three-wide at the top of the stretch for his ninth win in 21 starts. The time was 1:43.05 for the 1 1-16 miles on the fast track.

Inherit the Gold paid $4.90, $2.60 and $2.10. Socialsaul returned $2.50 and $2.10, while Uncle T Seven paid $4.10 to show.
