Saint Joseph’s beats Dayton 77-63

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Ronald Roberts scored 22 of his 27 points in the second half and Saint Joseph’s rallied to beat Dayton 77-63 on Wednesday night.

Dayton led 32-27 before Saint Joseph’s fought back to tie the game 43-all behind a Roberts layup. The Hawks (13-8, 3-3 A-10) then used a 10-1 run to go ahead 53-44 with 11 minutes left to play.

Saint Joseph’s held a 10-point lead, 62-52, before Roberts scored 16 straight points for the Hawks over the final 5 minutes to seal the victory.

Roberts made 10 of 11 shots and 7 of 9 free throws.

Saint Joseph outshot Dayton 52.7 percent (29 of 55) to 34.9 percent (22 of 63) and outscored the Flyers 40-24 in the paint despite losing the rebounding battle 40-29.

Kevin Dillard and Chris Johnson scored 17 points apiece for Dayton (14-6, 4-2), but no other Flyer scored over eight points.
