Jones leads Rider’s 90-55 rout of Saint Peter’s

LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. (AP) — Jeff Jones scored 19 points to lead four Rider players in double figures in a 90-55 rout of Saint Peter’s on Thursday night.

The 35-point victory margin was the largest of the season for the Broncs (8-14, 5-5 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference), who defeated the Peacocks 72-58 when the teams met Jan. 8.

The loss was the worst of the season for Saint Peter’s (4-17, 3-7).

Rider never trailed in the game and never led by fewer than 11 points in the second half.

Novar Gadson scored 13 points, Anthony Myles 12 and Eddie Mitchell 10 for Rider, which shot 50 percent (29 of 58) to 34.4 percent (22 of 64) for Saint Peter’s.

Brandon Penn and Daniel Stewart had 10 rebounds apiece for the Broncs, who outrebounded Saint Peter’s 46-30.

Yvon Raymond scored 13 points and Chris Prescott and Chris Burke added 11 each for the Peacocks.
