Flowers leads UC Irvine over UC Riverside 65-57

IRVINE, Calif. (AP) — Derick Flowers scored 17 points and Michael Wilder added 10 to lead UC Irvine to a 65-57 victory against UC Riverside on Saturday night.

The Anteaters (8-13, 4-4 Big West) won despite shooting just 38.5 percent from the floor, including 8 for 27 in the second half. But UC Irvine made 16 free throws (in 20 attempts) after intermission, nine of them in the last 1:01.

Phil Martin had 19 points and eight rebounds for the Highlanders (10-11, 4-4), and Kevin Bradshaw added 15 points and eight rebounds.

UC Irvine snapped a four-game losing streak against UC Riverside.
