GREENBURGH, N.Y. (AP) — Carmelo Anthony took part in a morning workout and the New York Knicks will decide on his availability shortly before their game against Detroit.

Coach Mike D’Antoni says Anthony wants to work out again Tuesday at Madison Square Garden so he can be sure he is ready to return after missing the past two games with ankle, wrist and thumb injuries. The sprained right ankle is the one that is causing Anthony the most discomfort.

However, D’Antoni says he doesn’t think Baron Davis will play until next week. Davis has been working to get into shape after missing the entire season with a herniated disk in his back. D’Antoni adds that Davis hasn’t had a setback, the training staff just thought he should take some more time.
