Walla Walla store clerk wounded in robbery

WALLA WALLA, Wash. (AP) -- Police say a clerk who was shot during a robbery at a Walla Walla convenience store is in satisfactory condition Wednesday after surgery.

Police say they're tracking down leads as they look for the two masked men who entered the Chevron store Tuesday night and demanded cash. She was complying when she was shot.

The bullet went through her arm and into her abdomen. She was conscious and able to talk to arriving officers before she was taken to a hospital.
