MADRID (AP) — European Championship winners Juan Mata, Jordi Alba and Javi Martinez were included in Spain’s Olympic soccer team Tuesday.

Mata and Alba scored in Spain’s 4-0 victory over Italy on Sunday in the Euro 2012 final. Spain became the first team to successfully defend its European title after winning the World Cup.

Coach Luis Milla selected 22 players but will trim the roster to 18 for this month’s London Games.

Mata’s Chelsea teammate Oriol Romeu is on the team, as is Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea.

Milla chose four players from Athletic Bilbao, including Martinez, Ander Herrera and Iker Muniain. Those three, plus Barcelona’s Thiago Alcantara — also on the squad — helped Spain’s Under-21 team win the European Championship last season.
