Events at Amboy Territorial Days start at 10 a.m. Saturday with the Territorial Days Parade, which begins at Amboy Middle School, 22115 N.E. Chelatchie Road, and ends at Amboy Territorial Park. At 1 p.m., the highlight of the celebration will be the logging show, which features a variety of logging competitions including a stock chain saw race, axe throwing, log rolling, speed chipping and high climbing. On Sunday, the big event is the ever-popular Lawn Mower Races, which kick off at noon. Visitors can also explore the ongoing carnival, craft booths, local musical performances and a beer garden throughout the weekend.

2. Art in the garden

The fifth-annual English Estate Winery Art and Wine Fair invites more than 35 local artists, musicians and food vendors to the 109-year-old English Estate grounds. Visitors can take in musical performances by Tom Mann, Two Rivers and others throughout the two-day fair.

3. Worldly tastes

The third-annual Fourth Plain International Festival celebrates the diversity of the area’s culture with local artisans, musicians, restaurants and community organizations. The festival includes music and dance performances, mural demonstrations, a dunk tank, international food and a large dodge ball tournament.

4. Saturday in the Park

Start Saturday with the Lyle’s Myles Charity Run/Walk, which benefits the Cascade AIDS Project, Martha’s Pantry and Global Partners for Development. The noncompetitive event has one rule: Anyone who crosses the finish line before Lyle Smith, the creator of the race, is automatically “disqualified.” Trophies are awarded to the “Fastest Disqualified.” Raffles will also be held. The course makes a loop from Esther Short Park along the waterfront and back to the park.

The 18th-annual lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender pride event, Saturday in the Park, also is on tap. The family-friendly event features musical and cultural performances, community groups, games, food booths and a beer garden in a picnic-inspired setting. This year’s theme,”Gateway to equality,” celebrates the recent vote for gay marriage in Washington.

5. ‘Ice Age’ offers family giggles

Scrat’s everlasting pursuit of an acorn has continental consequences as Manny (Ray Romano), Diego (Denis Leary) and Sid (John Leguizamo) try to get back home to their families. But will the trio be able to best pirate Captain Gutt (Peter Dinklage) and his ragtag crew? “Ice Age: Continental Drift” is rated PG.
