EVERETT (AP) — The Snohomish County prosecutor says an Everett man won’t be charged for fatally shooting an intruder last January.
The Daily Herald reports that Prosecutor Mark Roe said Wednesday his office doesn’t believe the unidentified homeowner committed a crime. Roe adds that a jury would likely find the shooting was justifiable self-defense.
Killed was 22-year-old Johnny Sok.
Investigators say Sok broke a kitchen window shortly before noon Jan. 9. The noise awakened the resident, a 54-year-old Boeing worker, who grabbed a .38-caliber revolver.
The homeowner said he saw a stranger with a hammer in his hand crawling in through the broken window. The resident told officers he fired, then called 911.
