SHELTON, Wash. (AP) — A Mason County sheriff’s officer says a man and a woman have been fatally shot in an apparent murder-suicide about 12 miles north of Shelton, Wash.
Chief Deputy Dean Byrd said it appears the 41-year-old Shelton woman shot and killed a 48-year-old ex-boyfriend early Friday, then shot herself at a house in the community of Potlatch.
She died en route to a hospital.
Neither was immediately identified pending notification of relatives.
A second man at the house reportedly witnessed the initial shooting, then fled to call for help. Byrd says the woman also called 911 and said she had shot a man. The deputy says she shot herself after making that call.
