WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama will host a dignitary and the Super Bowl champions Friday at the White House.

Obama will first welcome Philippines President Benigno Aquino (beh-NEEG’-noh ah-KEE’-noh) for a bilateral meeting. The Philippines is a long-standing ally of the United States and the president will discuss with Aquino the strategic and economic ties between the two countries. They’ll also talk about cooperation in the Asia-Pacific region.

Later in the day, Obama will host the defending Super Bowl champion New York Giants at the White House, honoring their victory over New England in Super Bowl 46.

Obama will attend a campaign event Friday evening in Washington.
