Letter: Make allowance to refund taxpayers

The Columbian
Published: June 10, 2012, 5:00pm

The recent disclosure by the Battle Ground Public Schools revealed that the board of directors’ vote concerning the leftover bond money of $5.5 million determined that the money will not be refunded to the taxpayers who originally approved this bond issue. That refund would amount to $197 for a residence that has an average value of $200,000.

This should not come as a surprise to most people due to the fact that once a liberal gets their hands on your money you will never ever see anything that looks like a refund.

Let’s face it. Schools are managed and run by liberal administrators and the liberal teachers union. As a retired person, and I am sure as most of the people who voted for this bond issue, I could use the refund money. It could really have helped the Clark County economy.
