Hazel Dell — Get ready to click to help kids cook. The Kids Cooking Corner, a nonprofit cooking school, is one of 500 finalists for the 2012 Toyota 100 Cars for Good program. Toyota will give 100 cars in 100 days to nonprofit organizations that are elected by their communities. Each day is a Facebook runoff between five charities, with just one day to vote; the Kids Cooking Corner’s day is today . Visit http://100carsforgood.com, which will direct you to the Facebook application. Kids Cooking Corner founder Heidi O’Connor uses her own car for all Cooking Corner needs, including hauling supplies and going on field trips. She said most of the students are special needs children who learn much more than cooking; gardening, etiquette and self-esteem are part of the package, too.
