Letter: Prepare for a blast

The Columbian
Published: June 21, 2012, 5:00pm

Ah, I shed tears of relief and extend kudos to the brave and patriotic Vancouver City Council. I now stand prepared for yet another July 1 to July 4 celebration. My eyes glazed and empty, my frontal cortex on hold, my lighter primed and ready, credit cards greased for quick access and my neighbor’s roof and backyard targeted with laserlike precision for the ensuing aerial assault. May my rocket’s red glare and bombs bursting in air rain fire and brimstone down upon your roofs.

Ah, the sweet smell of patriotism.
