PHOENIX (AP) — The Phoenix Suns are facing some franchise-defining decisions over the next week or so.

The first one is Thursday night, when they’ll have the 13th overall pick in the NBA draft.

Phoenix has plenty of needs, including perimeter scoring and point guard, particularly if free agent Steve Nash doesn’t come back.

With the 13th pick, the Suns should be able to get a solid player, with North Carolina’s Kendall Marshall, Duke’s Austin Rivers and Connecticut’s Jeremy Lamb among the possibilities.

General manager Lance Blanks said that team officials have kept the current roster and free agency in the back of their minds, but the sole focus leading into the draft has been on finding the best player available.
