Boll, Blue Jackets agree on 2-year contract

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — The Columbus Blue Jackets have agreed to terms with right wing Jared Boll on a two-year, $2.1 million contract.

The club said that Boll will earn $950,000 in 2012-13 and $1.15 million in 2013-14.

The 26-year-old Boll had two goals and one assist with 126 penalty minutes in 54 games with the Blue Jackets in 2011-12. He ranked second on the club and 15th in the NHL in penalty minutes. The year before he had a career-high seven goals and five assists with 182 penalty minutes in 73 games.

The Charlotte, N.C., native was Columbus’ fourth pick, 101st overall, in the 2005 draft and has 22 goals and 24 assists with 863 penalty minutes in 345 NHL games.
