KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia (AP) — Top-seeded Agnieszka Radwanska of Poland withdrew Friday from the Malaysian Open with a right elbow injury, giving Taiwan’s Hsieh Su-Wei a walkover into the semifinals.

The No. 5-ranked player, who won in Dubai last week, appeared on court just as the game was about to start to apologize to the crowd at the Bukit Kiara Equestrian and Country Resort. Radwanska had earlier complained of soreness in her shoulder and was wearing a thigh strap in earlier games.

In another quarterfinal, fifth-seeded Petra Martic of Croatia bounced back from a set down to upset third-seeded Peng Shuai of China 4-6, 7-6 (3), 6-4.
