Letter: County accomplishments praised

During my several years’ service on the Clark County Clean Water Commission, I was perpetually frustrated that the CWC accomplished so little to benefit the community compared to what it cost the county. That leads me to support the Clark County Commissioners’ idea of saving money by reconfiguring the county’s 50-plus task forces and commissions.

On the other hand, I gained a great deal from those years of service: an introduction to the dance between nature and infrastructure that had been invisible to me; direction to the Watershed Stewards program and other ways I could help make the community a better place environmentally; and, most important, huge respect and appreciation for the dedicated work of our county employees in environmental services who are too many to name here. My thanks for their patience with my interminable questions. My thanks for their expertise in their chosen field and for putting it to use for our benefit. Clark County is lucky to have these employees.
