School counselors win top honors from group

School counselors from the Battle Ground school district took home two top honors bestowed by their state professional organization this year.

The Washington School Counselor Association last week named Denice Harvey, the district’s counseling director, as state counseling supervisor of the year. The group also singled out Steve Rhodes of Prairie High as the state high school counselor of the year.

Harvey was selected for the administrator award from among six nominees statewide. Rhodes was up against three other counselors.
