John ‘J.J.’ Burke tapped to lead Woodland chamber

Woodland — John “J.J.” Burke has been named director of the Woodland Chamber of Commerce, an appointment announced Wednesday by Judy Bartlett, board president of the nearly 200-member group.

Burke, a Woodland resident and owner of J.J.’s Computer Repair, will report to his job at the chamber Monday. He also is a member of the Woodland City Council; he ran for mayor in 2011, losing to Grover Laseke.

Burke is a retired Coast Guard officer who hails from New Bedford, Mass.
