PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. (AP) — Miami Marlins outfielder Giancarlo Stanton has been taken to a hospital for X-rays after being hit in the left wrist by a pitch during a spring training game.

The Marlins said Sunday that Stanton was being treated for a “left wrist contusion.”

Stanton was hit by a fastball from New York Mets reliever Chris Schwinden in the third inning. Stanton was met at first base by assistant trainer Mike Kozak and Miami manager Ozzie Guillen, then was taken out of the game.
