A Vancouver man was cited on suspicion of DUI and speeding after he nearly hit a Clark County Sheriff’s Office deputy’s vehicle on state Highway 503 late Sunday, officials said.

The deputy was on Highway 503 north of Lewisville Park around 10:40 p.m. when a car came into his lane going 81 mph in a 55 mph zone, said Sgt. Duncan Hoss. The deputy avoided getting hit, turned around and stopped the other car, he said.

Battle Ground police assisted and processed the driver, Ian Bradley, 33, of Vancouver, Hoss said.

Bradley was cited on suspicion of DUI and speeding.
