Hudson’s Bay -- The School of Piano Technology for the Blind, also known as the Piano Hospital, received a $2,500 grant from the Northwest Lions Foundation in support of its HVAC upgrade project. This brings the total grants received from the Northwest Lions Foundation for this project to $11,500. Local Lions Clubs and individual contributors have donated more than $16,000 to the $38,000 project, which will significantly lower costs and increase operational efficiency at the Piano Hospital. The Northwest Lions Foundation works to help restore sight and hearing to individuals who cannot afford expensive medical care or special equipment. The School of Piano Technology for the Blind, which trains blind and visually impaired individuals in piano technology, is the only of its kind in the world. Students from 36 states and 14 countries have attended the school.
