Legacy Salmon Creek Medical Center will begin offering pulmonary rehabilitation services as part of its outpatient rehab program on March 26.

The services will benefit people with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (lung diseases) and other pulmonary conditions. Most insurance plans will cover rehab sessions.

Pulmonary rehabilitation helps patients to experience less difficulty with breathing, increase muscle strength and endurance, better cope with daily activities, understand how to use medications and oxygen appropriately, improve quality of life and reduce hospitalizations.

The program includes monitored, guided exercise and education for disease management.

Those who are interested in the program should talk to their physicians.

For more information, call Legacy’s pulmonary rehab program at 360-487-3770.

The program is located at the Legacy Salmon Creek Medical Center campus, 2211 N.E. 139th St., in Suite 320 of the medical office building.
