SEATTLE (AP) — Sound Transit says it reached another milestone in construction of a light rail line through Seattle on Wednesday when a tunnel boring machine reached the Capitol Hill station site after a 10-month dig from the direction of Husky Stadium.

KING-TV reports (http://is.gd/W1zJQJ ) the 2-mile section is considered one of the riskiest sections of the project because it goes under Lake Washington Ship Canal at Montlake Cut and is about 300 feet below the surface of Volunteer Park.

It will be four more years before Sound Transit opens the university link, connecting to the existing light rail line between downtown Seattle and Sea-Tac Airport.
