OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) -- Authorities say an Olympia police officer shot and killed a man after the officer was threatened.
KOMO News reports (http://bit.ly/K088KO) the officer was responding to a call Friday of a possible drunken driver who had crashed into another car and had fled on foot.
Officers began tracking the man and found him. At that point, police say the man threatened the officer. The officer then fired, striking the man in the head.
Police didn't say if the man was armed or how he threatened the officer.
The 25-year veteran officer has been put on administrative leave.
The victim's name has not been released.
