MILWAUKEE (AP) — The Milwaukee Brewers have extended the contracts of general manager Doug Melvin and manager Ron Roenicke.

Melvin’s new deal runs through the 2015 season. Roenicke’s contract will go through 2014 with a club option for 2015.

The Brewers are coming off a 96-66 season and NL Central title last season, Roenicke’s first as a manager. They lost to the St. Louis Cardinals in the NL championship series.

Having lost Prince Fielder to free agency and beset by injuries early this season, Milwaukee is off to a 12-17 start.

Melvin also received a promotion and will also be the team’s president of baseball operations as well as the GM. Melvin previously had been the team’s executive vice president.
