OCEAN SHORES, Wash. (AP) — Police say an injured passenger from an Ocean Shores hit-and-run was first taken to a residence before he reached a hospital where he was dead on arrival.
Police suspect speed and alcohol were factors in the Tuesday night crash. A car driver could be charged with vehicular homicide.
The occupants of a van told police the crash was caused when the car crossed into their lane. The car was able to drive away.
A short time later there was a call for an ambulance to the residence about a mile from the crash scene. Police determined the injured man had been a passenger in the car. He died on the way to the hospital.
The car driver and two people in the van were treated for minor injuries.
