ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — What will certainly be a busy summer for the Orlando Magic began just a day after their second straight first-round playoff exit.
Magic CEO Alex Martins said Wednesday while there’s no timetable for possible changes, “everyone and every scenario” will be evaluated going forward and “unfortunately, just getting to the playoffs isn’t good enough.”
Martins hasn’t spoken yet with Dwight Howard specifically on what he wants to sign long-term, but said management won’t duplicate the same uncertainty that that took place with him this season.
Otis Smith says he’ll talk with his family, but is “50-50” in his mind right now on if he even would like to return as president of basketball operations.
Coach Stan Van Gundy says he wants to return, but isn’t stressing one way or another.
