EVERETT, Wash. (AP) — A Snohomish County, Wash., sheriff’s spokeswoman says three people have been arrested in connection with area burglaries that seemed to be related to obituary postings.
In crimes dating from December 2011 through this past March, victims attended funerals for family members and returned home to find homes burglarized.
Spokeswoman Shari Ireton said Wednesday that 37-year-old Nathan Shields and 21-year-old Corey Arendt were arrested Tuesday for investigation of criminal conspiracy to commit burglary. Both are from Lake Stevens. Last week, 58-year-old Thomas McGrath of Granite Falls was arrested for investigation of possession of stolen property and drug counts.
Ireton says detectives recovered stolen items from all three men’s residences.
Detectives anticipate additional arrests.
