PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — Former Red Sox pitcher Curt Schilling is thanking his well-wishers after his video game company defaulted on a $1.1 million payment to the state and was unable to meet payroll this week.

The founder of 38 Studios hasn’t commented this week on his company’s troubles. But he posted late Thursday to his Facebook page: “To all the prayers and well wishes to the team and families at 38, God Bless and thank you! We will find a way, and the strength, to endure.”

38 Studios was lured from Massachusetts in 2010 after Rhode Island officials offered a $75 million loan guarantee. The company missed a scheduled $1.1 million payment to the state on May 1.

Schilling has asked for additional help from the state.
