BEND, Ore. (AP) — A year after a man ran from a Bend jewelry store with diamond jewelry worth an estimated $150,000, a theft ring is broken.

The Bend Bulletin (http://bit.ly/N6bJFT ) reports that over the course of a year, the suspects hit jewelers in five states, netting millions in gems.

The last of about two dozen robberies was at Saxon’s Fine Jewelers in Bend in May 2011.

Authorities got information from the gang and arrested 26-year-old Jack Cannon a few weeks later. In all, nine suspects have been arrested.

Cannon awaits sentencing in Florida for robbery. After that, he faces several Oregon robbery charges.

A man accused as an accomplice in the Bend theft is behind bars in Portland awaiting trial.
