Fort Vancouver site sets fee-free weekend
Thursday, November 8, 2012
Fort Vancouver National Historic Site, 1001 E. Fifth St., is among the national parks that will offer free admission during the Veterans Day weekend.
Admission fees into the re-created stockade will be waived Saturday, Sunday and Monday in honor of those who serve and have served in the U.S. military.
More than 70 of the 398 national parks -- including Fort Vancouver -- have direct connections to the military, according to the National Park Service.
The Veterans Day weekend is the last of the National Park Service fee-free days for 2012.
