HUNTSVILLE, Texas (AP) — Daman Starring scored 12 points and UC Irvine pulled away in the second half to defeat Liberty 64-46 Monday night in the Progressive Legends Classic.
Chris McNealy had 10 points for the Anteaters (3-1), who led 30-24 at the break but opened up a 27-point lead in the second half. Eleven UC Irvine players scored in the game, played at Sam Houston State.
Davon Marshall scored 12 points and Tavares Sparks added 11 for the Flames (0-4), off to their worst start since the 1990-91 team lost its first five games.
It was the first meeting between the schools.
