Edgewood Park -- One heart. Two clubs. Many dollars. The American Association of University Women raised $1,130 for its scholarship fund in a friendly "Dollars for Scholars" bridge tournament Oct. 20. The Vancouver branch of AAUW awards scholarships to one Clark College and one Washington State University Vancouver female student each year. The all-volunteer buffet and bridge party was held at the Clark County Genealogical Society on Grand Boulevard, where local card sharks paid to play an afternoon of bridge, according to event chairman Kay Pankratz. Small prizes were awarded to the winners, at least one of whom donated the money back to the scholarship fund.
