I'm writing in response to Roz Luther's Sept. 27 letter, "Leave decision in hands of women," which seems to imply that abortion is the only option. I am a pro-life woman who found myself pregnant at age 15 with a baby, not a piece of tissue. I gave birth to my daughter when I was 16. My dreams were not dashed, my life was not ruined and her life is worth as much as mine. Was it tough? Absolutely. My parents were upset for a while, but that vanished when their grandchild was born. Thirty-seven years later, that same daughter has blessed me with three grandchildren that I absolutely adore.
As for adoption, I believe that the vast majority of adoptive parents and children are well adjusted.
