Letter: Coal bill shields billionaires

The Columbian
Published: October 8, 2012, 5:00pm

House Republicans passed “Stop the War on Coal,” HR 3409: Coal Miner Employment and Domestic Energy Infrastructure Protection Act, which protects billionaire coal tyrants from people speaking out for health and safety. Twenty coal trains, daily, chugging through Camas and Vancouver, would bring extreme pollution. Recent increases in black lung disease in America demonstrate how coal corporations regard workers.

The plan is to chop off our majestic Rocky Mountains, ship the coal from inside to slave labor factories in Communist China that make products to sell us. Send American-made goods on our rails instead.
