Washougal — If fall rains really begin as forecast later this week, the students at Cape Horn-Skye School can still play outdoors in the school’s new, covered play structure, which was dedicated Sept. 27. The school’s boosters not only gathered donations in the community, but they also built the structure. Tammy and Derek Connolly took the lead in building the structure and organized work parties. Contractor Michael Connolly did not accept any money for the project. The play structure’s total value is more than $53,000, but because of donated materials and equipment, the boosters paid about $23,000.
