DALLAS (AP) — Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban says he isn’t concerned about Dirk Nowitzki’s swollen right knee because of the 11-time All-Star’s history of coming back from injuries.

Nowitzki is missing a third straight preseason game Wednesday night when the Mavericks face the Phoenix Suns.

Cuban says Nowitzki dealt with swelling in his right knee last season. Nowitzki missed four games last January and played through the rest of the season without any problems.

Nowitzki, who had ankle problems earlier in his career, said Monday he wants to avoid arthroscopic surgery. He is limiting his workouts to the elliptical machine and time in the pool in hopes his knee will respond.
