GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) — Dominique Swope ran for a pair of touchdowns and Georgia Southern rushed for 275 yards in a 38-17 win over Furman in Southern Conference action Saturday.

Swope ran for 67 yards on 14 carries as part of a balanced ground effort that also featured contributions from Johnathan Bryant (75 yards, one touchdown on six carries) and Jerick McKinnon (65 yards, one touchdown on 16 carries).

The Eagles (6-1, 5-1) trailed 10-9 late in the third quarter following a Ray Early 48-yard field goal for the Paladins (2-6, 1-4). Georgia Southern responded with three straight touchdowns, sparked by a 75-yard scoring pass from McKinnon to Zach Walker. McKinnon threw for 119 yards on 3-of-5 passing.

The win ensures the Eagles will retain their spot atop the Southern Conference for another week.

Furman’s Jerodis Williams ran for 98 yards and a touchdown on 17 carries.
