JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) — The Jacksonville Jaguars have brought back cornerback Kevin Rutland, signing him for depth as starters Rashean Mathis and Derek Cox deal with injuries.

Rutland spent the first five weeks of the season with the Jaguars, playing in three games before being waived Oct. 15. He appeared in 14 games as a rookie with Jacksonville in 2011, finishing with 18 tackles and an interception.

Starting cornerbacks Mathis (groin) and Cox (back) have been limited in practice this week because of injuries. Both are expected to play Sunday at Green Bay.

The Jaguars had room on the roster to add Rutland after placing linebacker Daryl Smith on injured reserve Thursday with a groin injury.
