PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. (AP) — The PGA Tour has released its 2013 schedule with only 40 events as it prepares for a wraparound season starting next fall.

The 2013 season begins with the Tournament of Championship at Kapalua from Jan. 4-7, which again features a Monday finish. An extra week has been created because the Masters finishes on April 14 this year. That means there will be two weeks between the Florida Swing and Augusta National, and the Texas Open will move from May to the week immediately before the Masters.

The tour also awarded a slight increase in FedEx Cup points to the three opposite-field events. The winner will get 300 points, up from 250 points.

There will be a week off between the Deutsche Bank Championship and BMW Championship during the playoffs.
