Aging, longevity expert to speak at OHSU conference

Oregon Health & Science University will hold its second annual Healthy Aging Conference in October.

The conference, “The Science and Art of Healthy Aging,” will take place from 1 to 6 p.m. Oct. 10 at Portland Art Museum, 1219 S.W. Park Ave. Registration begins at 12:30 p.m. Cost for the event is $15.

The conference will feature a keynote address by Dr. Walter Bortz II, a nationally recognized expert on aging and longevity. Bortz is a clinical professor of medicine at Stanford University School of Medicine.

The conference will also include scientific panels on sleep, exercise, technology and other topics. It will also include presentations on incorporating art into healthy aging. Attendees will also receive complimentary entrance into the museum’s The Body Beautiful exhibit.
