Letter: Same-sex marriage should be taboo

The Columbian
Published: September 30, 2012, 5:00pm

I hate to say it but the taboos in this increasingly permissive and shockproof society are forever getting shattered like a 2,000-year-old Peruvian vase shipped by UPS. The same-sex marriage proposal is a case in point. Gay activists can slap any soft label they want on it but any form of homosexuality is deviant behavior. You don’t have to be a Bible-thumping Puritan to see that it goes against nature.

To say that gay people should have the right to marry because they love each other is tantamount to a rectangle claiming to be a square just because it also has four sides. It’s all very wrong and sad.
