Letter: Time to support bridge project

The Columbian
Published: April 6, 2013, 5:00pm

U.S. Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler, R-Camas, says she is concerned about the jobs that would be affected concerning the height of the new Columbia River bridge. We are losing thousands more jobs by her obstructive and narrow-minded views about stopping the building of the bridge. There is an effort to work around the bridge height and save jobs.

This bridge is of greater importance than just Clark County and Washington state’s 3rd Congressional District’s benefit. This bridge is for the benefit of our state, the entire West Coast and the rest of the nation.

Herrera Beutler needs to be able to have vision and to think about the greater good that this bridge will accomplish. We urge her to get behind the effort to get this bridge built.

Millions of dollars have already been spent on this project. Technical experts, thoughtful political figures, economists, and many citizens have backed this project.
