ATLANTA (AP) — Center Al Horford is sitting out the Atlanta Hawks’ final home game of the regular season because of soreness in his chest.

Horford missed most of last season after having surgery on his left pectoral muscle. He said before Tuesday’s game that he’s having some lingering pain in that same area, so he wants to give it a rest with the playoffs approaching.

As a precaution, he was checked by the same doctor who performed the surgery. Horford will travel with the team for its finale Wednesday in New York against the Knicks, but it’s not known if he’ll be able to play.

Horford ranks second on the team at 17.4 points a game and leads the team in rebounding at 10.2.
