Volunteer lawyers to hold free foreclosure seminar

The Clark County Volunteer Lawyers Program will hold free home foreclosure educational seminars at 6 p.m. every second and fourth Wednesday of the month, including April 24, at the downtown Vancouver Community Library, 901 C St.

To be held in the library’s Skamania Room, the seminars will outline legal assistance for eligible low- and moderate-income Clark County homeowners as part of the Home Foreclosure Project. It provides legal advice, information on alternatives to foreclosure and education about homeowner rights during the foreclosure process.

If eligible, homeowners will be scheduled for an appointment with a volunteer attorney. The attorney may provide a referral to request mediation if appropriate, which suspends the foreclosure process until the mediation process is complete. Call Kristina Phillips, program coordinator, at 360-823-0423.
