HOUSTON (AP) — NFL vice president for events Frank Supovitz is in Houston for a visit to Reliant Stadium before next month’s vote by owners on the sites for the 2016 and 2017 Super Bowls.

Miami and San Francisco are in the running for the 2016 game — Super Bowl 50 — and the runner-up will compete with Houston for the game in the following year. The votes are expected at the NFL’s spring meeting in Boston on May 20-22.

Reliant opened in 2002 and hosted the Super Bowl in 2004. The Texans had a red carpet, cheerleaders and a pep band waiting for Supovitz when he arrived at the stadium on Wednesday afternoon. Supovitz was joined on his tour by Houston businessman Ric Campo, the bid committee’s chairman.
