WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (AP) — Wake Forest says it is donating the ticket proceeds from it weekend baseball series against Boston College to a fund to help families affected by the Boston Marathon bombing.
School officials said Wednesday that the proceeds will go to The One Fund Boston. It was created by Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick and Boston Mayor Tom Menino.
The school also says it will have staff members on hand to accept donations from fans.
There are four players on the Demon Deacons’ roster from the Boston area, and coach Tom Walter says “our team feels a connection with the Boston College team and the city of Boston.”
